The Crimson Tide moves up a spot on the AP Poll

After a slow and methodical (and some might say a "rolling "motion) beating of the Ole Miss Rebels, Coach Nick Saban reminded everyone that " This is like climbing a mountain, the higher you go, the more treacherous it gets." That may be true, Coach Saban. We all know a small slip could send us falling down this mountain, back to the foothills of obscurity. Even though we rejoice in a victory of the "preseason darling", Ole Miss, we'll keep the eye upward towards the next opponent. Saturday's victory pushed us one step closer, since the Tide moved up a spot on the AP Poll to number 2. With all our success, we know now is not the time to grow complacent.

Florida's grip on 1st place votes are slipping as the Tide keeps gaining momentum from dominating victories. The Tide earned five first place votes and eleven second place votes in the Coaches Poll (four more first place votes than the previous week). Also, Alabama is currently tied for second place with Texas in the Harris Interactive Poll. The first BCS standings will be released next Sunday and if they were released today, it would look like this: 1. Florida 2. Alabama.
